Neuropalliative Care Research Webinar Series

The International Neuropalliative Care Society (INPCS) is pleased to announce the continuation of our recurring Neuropalliative Care Research Webinar Series.

Our next event will take place on Tuesday, April 7th at 11am (US-Eastern) where we will be joined by Dr. Joanna Paladino, who will present a webinar entitled, "What We Say and How It Shapes Care: Diagnostic Disclosure and Anti-Amyloid Decision‑Making Conversations in Early Dementia Care".

Webinar/research description:
Dr. Joanna (Jo) Paladino will present findings from pilot studies examining how clinicians communicate about a dementia diagnosis and anti-amyloid therapy, and how these conversations shape patient and caregiver experience and decision-making. She will highlight emerging insights, ongoing challenges, and proposed next steps for research funding, with the goal of eliciting input and feedback from the group.

Joanna (Jo) Paladino, MD is a palliative care physician researcher in the Mongan Institute Center for Optimal Aging and Serious Illness and the Associate Director of Research for the Continuum Project at Massachusetts General Hospital. Her research focuses on designing, testing, and scaling serious illness communication interventions across clinical settings and patient populations. Recently, her research has focused on communication, care planning, and decision-making in early dementia care.

Webinars in the series will consist of a presentation followed by an open Q&A and group discussion, with the webinar lasting an hour in total.

The objective of these one-hour online webinars is to:

  • Provide both junior and well-established neuropalliative care investigators an opportunity to obtain feedback on research across varying stages of development, from initial idea to funding applications and publications.

While the primary target audience is researchers and health care providers, interested patients and family caregivers are also welcome to attend.

Additional details are described in Frequently Asked Questions or please email info@inpcs.org.
