Dr. Jessica Besbris is a board-certified neurologist and palliative care physician who serves as Assistant Professor of Neurology and Medicine at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, where she also directs the Neuropalliative Care Program. A nationally recognized leader in the emerging field of neuropalliative care, Dr. Besbris combines clinical excellence with a deep commitment to education, mentorship, and interdisciplinary collaboration.

After earning her MD from the University of Michigan with distinction in service, Dr. Besbris completed her neurology residency at UCLA, where she served as Chief Resident, followed by a fellowship in Hospice and Palliative Medicine at Cedars-Sinai/VA Hospital. She holds dual board certifications in Neurology and Hospice and Palliative Medicine.

Dr. Besbris has pioneered educational initiatives, including the development of a dedicated Neuropalliative Care Fellowship Track, and has co-authored numerous peer-reviewed publications and educational resources. She is a founding member of the International Neuropalliative Care Society and served as co-chair of the Education Committee, and has also held leadership roles in both the American Academy of Neurology and the American Academy of Hospice and Palliative Medicine.

Her work focuses on improving quality of life for patients with serious neurologic illness through compassionate communication, interdisciplinary care, and innovative training programs for the next generation of clinicians.
