Target Audience
This activity has been designed to meet the educational needs of physicians, nurses, and social workers involved in neuropalliative care of patients.
Program Overview
This meeting is focused on neuropalliative care, the application of palliative care principles, and approaches to persons and families living with a neurologic illness. We have put together a list of topics on the basis of both expert opinion and requests from last year’s meeting and have contacted experts in the field to deliver this content. The topics chosen are highly relevant to healthcare professionals working at the intersection of neurology and palliative care.
Educational Objectives
After completing this activity, the participant should be better able to:
- Apply educational and messaging strategies to improve neuropalliative care interest, learning, and behaviors amongst trainees and healthcare providers in practice.
- Initiate clinical programs and research that address disparities in neuropalliative care.
- Organize multidisciplinary neuropalliative care clinical programs to meet the needs of patients and families using local resources and meeting local context.
- Provide a palliative care approach to patients and families living with dementia.
